My most cherished possessions are the gifts that others have made for me. Each time I look at the items, the person who made it comes to mind, and I think of how special they are to me. Just the tiniest little part of them is in that object or item. What a gift! I think this should be the year of make a gift for someone. Back to basics people! Since the energy predicament will be with us for the long-time future, we need to re-think the way we do things. This is not entirely a bad thing! Quilts and quilting was born from recycling. Our ancestors did not “toss” things away. They re-purposed. Quilts were made of old flour sacks, old clothing, etc. During the civil war, the quilt patterns were named to reflect our American history. Being the clever people you are, your creative juices should begin flowing. So, I am offering to help anyone in my newsletter audience who wishes to make a gift for someone ( including themselves). If you have an idea, but don’t have the supplies, tools, I will try to make them available to you. I am usually able to find the niche notions not readily available in retail stores. If you need instructions or encouragement-I am your woman. My expertise is quilting, punchneedle rug making and picture making, felting, penny rugs, felt appliqué, embroidery, counted cross stitch, sewing (machine and hand), fabric selection, thread selection, etc. awesome "gluologist" too. translate-correct glue for project Scrapbooking not so much. so, let's all really go green, and give a little of ourselves to another. questions delightfully answered

Morgan hoops are a niche item that is designed and made in the USA! I started using them a few years ago, and do I love them. When we put such a huge amount of time, love and effort into our creations, it only makes sense to use the correct tools. this is especially true when doing a punch needle embroidery project. the punch needle tool will not work unless the fabric is "drum tight". this is the hoop that never lets you down! it will hold your fabric(weaver's cloth, etc)tight and in place until you release the wing nut. do you have a favorite technique or hoop that you use? I would love to answer any questions you have regarding punch needle embroidery!

I get many questions about upholstery thread. It is a versatile thread which is weather, UV resistant, and very strong. Equally as useful in the home as on your boat or patio.it is 100% nylon which gives it strength & sews easily with a #14 needle. If you are sewing heavy fabric like a sail, heavy canvas, heavyweight fabrics, etc. then you must use a #16 or #18 needle. Coats & Clark features about 20 diffent colors.
